Martin M.
Antony, Ph.D. is Professor and Graduate Program Director in the
Department of Psychology at Ryerson University in Toronto and past
president of the Canadian Psychological Association. He is also
Director of Research at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre at
St. Joseph's Healthcare in Hamilton, where he spends about a day
each month, and is involved in research collaborations with
psychology residents. Dr. Antony has published 28 books and more
than 150 scientific articles and book chapters in the areas of
anxiety disorders and cognitive behavior therapy. His contributions
to research and training have been recognized by awards from the
Society of Clinical Psychology (American Psychological Association),
the Canadian Psychological Association, the Anxiety Disorders
Association of America, and a number of other professional
organizations.
Dr.
Antony’s research interests are in the area of anxiety disorders,
perfectionism, and cognitive behaviour therapy. Current funded
projects include a study of a motivational enhancement intervention
for obsessive compulsive disorder, a study of mindfulness-based
treatment for social anxiety disorder, and a study on a study of the
effects of CBT on neurobiological correlates in social phobia.
