Dr. Wojtowicz received her Ph.D. from the University of Calgary and completed her predoctoral psychology residency training at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton. She is currently working at the Eating Disorder Program at St.Joseph's Healthcare, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.  Dr. Wojtowicz’s research has focused predominantly on understanding the etiologic processes associated with the development of body dissatisfaction and eating disorders.  Her dissertation tested whether a set of sociocultural, biological, and individual factors predicted increases in body dissatisfaction over time in adolescent girls.  Dr. Wojtowicz is also interested in exploring the impact of integrating various treatment modalities in the treatment of eating disorders.  More specifically, Dr. Wojtowicz has a particular interest in evaluating the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in the treatment of multidiagnostic eating disorder clients.
